The Engineer maintains existing systems, makes enhancement recommendations and/or designs new tools for DI, and assists with the overall data quality assurance process.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DELIVERABLES (General description)
-Develop new and maintain existing DI tools: Work with the DI team, engineering, and PM to prioritize, design and spec, develop, and implement new DI software tools and projects. Maintain existing verification tools and make enhancements to Dizilla as needed.
-Technical support: Assist DI Leads in addressing customer's technical concerns as well as assist in maintaining technical documentation. Provide technical support to the DI team in trouble-shooting application and data problems.
-Manage the bug process: Delegate tasks as well as perform the actual investigation and fixing of data task bugs. Liaison with engineering and PM to champion bug fixes and communicate feature enhancement requests.
-Maintain DI machines: Perform maintenance and upgrades to DI computers, including the installation and set-up of software and hardware.
-Administer DI servers including the IDS, Dizilla, and the SFTP.
-Metrics collection & analysis: Monitor and analyze system performance and make recommendations for improvement and scalability. Provide data queries to management.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
-Required: Experience with 3-4 years of Bash scripting on Linux/Unix environments, Perl, SQL and Java.
-Preferred: Experience with Python and PHP and Oracle 10.
-Required: Strong verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain focused. Capable of learning new technical skills quickly and effectively.
-Preferred: Strong Microsoft Office, Excel, and text editor skills.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
