Our client, a large publishing company in Boston, is in need of a Requirements Business Analyst who will discover and document user requirements pertaining to a system to store and track artwork in textbooks. The BA will contribute to the usability studies and the development and execution of test cases. This will be a Documentum-based software development project, which uses an Agile approach.

This position begins in early September 08, and lasts through May of 09.

Boston location preferred; will consider Orlando. In either event, some travel will be required

Responsibilities:
-Discover user requirements, by conducting user interviews, conducting or participating in workshops, and gathering background information with users.
-Document interviews and workshops, analyze data.
-Prepare a business requirements document and functional requirements/user stories.
-Circulate documents for review, revise them accordingly, and manage requirements change throughout the development process.
-Participate in the development of test cases, and in the execution of software tests.
-Participate in or conduct usability studies, under the guidance of the Program Director.

Required Skills:

* Five years experience in a software development environment
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Attention to detail

Preferred Skills:

Job Responsibilities:
Serve as a senior member of the implementation team for Medication Administration Checking (MAC), and participate in other clinical implementation projects as needed (including clinical documentation and CPOE).
Coordinate MAC project team meetings, update project plan, and maintain log of project issues and risks.
Work proactively with nursing and pharmacy representatives on the MAC team to identify requirements.
Using available application tools, configure MAC application to support user needs; use technical and analytical skills to exploit MAC capabilities.
Coordinate implementation of interface between MAC and clinical information system (Soarian); review model interface specifications, plan necessary activities, coordinate work effort between vendor personnel (from Siemens) and local resources, and configure application settings to support integration.
Develop MAC test plans and perform detailed application testing.
Develop strong and positive rapport with key users, particularly IT liaisons from Nursing and Pharmacy.
Support Project Manager in development of MAC LIVE plan; ensure that all technical tasks are covered.
While this role is not part of our production support organization, this individual may be needed for occasional after-hours “on call” support to troubleshoot and resolve system problems escalated by the service management team.


Required Skills:
Knowledge of the medication administration process, ideally from a nursing perspective
Demonstrated aptitude with clinical information systems, either through experience as a clinician supporting an implementation, experience as a trainer, etc.
Flexibility and customer-focus; willingness to do whatever it takes to support the customer

Desired Skills:
Experience with implementing a medication administration checking software application
Excellent skills in interpreting customer requirements and creatively using application tools to meet customer needs
Excellent communication skills with all levels of customer personnel
