Project
Parsons is currently looking for a DESKSIDE SUPPORT ANALYST to join our team in Boston, MA. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals wanting to support a global engineering and construction firm. Individual will have a broad range of responsibilities and will utilize multiple technical areas of expertise.

Need
The Desk Side Support Analyst provides technical support by performing installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of personal computer and related software/hardware. Trouble shoots software and hardware failures and identifies network problems when related to personal desktop computers. Activities include recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up steps. Screens, refers, and diagnoses internal inquiries and work requests as they relate to maintenance of personal computers utilizing experience and understanding of Parsons Environment. May also provide some phone support.

Typically, the analyst level participates in supportive role by providing analytical and in person technical support. Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions. Under little supervision, plans, installs, and tests less complex vendor supplied computer system hardware or software. Requires 2+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of system principles, theories, concepts, and technologies may be required in these positions.

Support occasional travel to sites for ticket resolution and project support (office start-ups, shutdowns and consolidations. Travel typically <10% for role.

Typical workday is 8 hours between 7 am and 6 pm based on customer requests. Emergency support is expected occasionally during off-hours.

Requirements

1 to 3 years hands on desktop support experience or equivalent knowledge
Experience in working in a Service Desk environment
Familiarity with Office Software (MS 2003/MS 2007)
Basic comprehension of network and server operation including troubleshooting PC connectivity issues, functioning as ''remote hands'' for network/server team
Coursework in computer support - HW/SW -customer service preferred
MCSA/MCSE Preferred, MCP preferred minimum although experience acceptable

1) Strong experience with CBSS/RiBS,
2) Mainframe, and server tools: DB2/UDB, flat files, GDGs, VSAM, JCL etc.
3) Ability to function within a cross-functional and cross company environment
4) Strong time management skills
5) Testing experience in the following applications - COFEE billing/ordering, NMF, .com/.net, eMittence, VEPS, AMDOCs, NSOP, eCORS, iVAPP, ARBOR
6) Proven strong analytical, planning, and organization skills
7) Effective at interacting at all organization levels
8) Previous experience in the operations area - working knowledge of telecommunications applications - Ordering, Provisioning, Billing 9) Knowledgeable in Data Warehousing methods and ability to use DB tool ( i.e. Forest and Trees, DBvisualizer, TOAD) to extract data using complex SQL queries.
10) Highly proficient with Excel, Access, PowerPoint, as well as other Office applications.
11) Knowledgeable in regression testing, functional testing, system integration testing, automated testing, conversion script testing.

Desired Skills & Experience:
1) Strategic and structured thinking skills - solves a wide range of complex problems.
2) Prior experience on CGS to RIBS migration project
3) Prior experience on migration of PA/VA from GTE OSS to Verizon OSS
4) Able to work independently on multiple, complex projects concurrently
