74244 Are you looking for an opportunity to providing primary support for a company's infrastructure composed of enterprise system components including hardware (servers, workstations, networking equipment and instruments), software (operating systems, middleware, general applications and specific applications) and applicable standards of operation.
This position will focus on current and emerging Windows technology (.Net, Active Directory) to help better position our client for future architectural direction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain awareness and in-depth understanding of evolving hardware and software technologies. Focus is on Windows client server technology.
- Setup, installation and maintenance of enterprise system components according to defined standards of deployment and configuration.
- User account maintenance, backup and recovery procedures, storage management and system audits.
- Monitor enterprise system components to ensure defined services are available and operating according to established performance standards.
- Promote effective use of enterprise systems by working with system users to identify problems and satisfy requests.
- Provide technical assistance in troubleshooting enterprise system problems.
- Resolve enterprise system problems by repairing and configuring enterprise system components.
- Research, propose and implement new technologies as needed.
- Update documentation to record newly deployed enterprise system components and configuration changes made to existing enterprise system components.
- Act as a member of Project Teams, performing tasks as needed.
- Ongoing attendance in seminars and special interest groups to maintain technical currency.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Two to four years of experience in System Administration, (TCP/IP Networking, UNIX, or NT).
- Experience with UNIX script writing, or coding in a programming language.
- Strong oral and written communications skills and strong customer service focus.
- Experience as a member of a project team.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Computer Science) or equivalent work experience.
- Certification or technical training in an Information Technology specialty, such as, TCP/IP Networking, one or more Operating Systems (UNIX, Linux, Windows NT, Cisco IOS) and Project Management is desirable.
