SQL Server DBA in Boston, MA

This position will play a pivotal role in the growth of the business and will be an important of the Data Warehousing Team at Fortelligent and will assist with database development.


Job Responsibilities:

. Administration of all databases for clients.

. Input into the ongoing design of the Fortelligent Software Platform.

. Coordinate with software developers.

. Managing the end-to-end cycle of database development and design.


Required Background:

. Minimum of 5 years in direct management of Microsoft SQL Server database.

. Working knowledge of the SQL Server ETL tools, DTS and SSIS.

. Experience with Analysis Services or other multi-dimensional databases and other relational databases including Sybase IQ, Teradata and Netezza.

. Database design and use of design tools, PowerDesigner or Erwin desired.

. Experience with large data sets required.

. Must be able to perform SQL analysis and database performance tuning.

. Experience working on Solaris, Linux and Windows and be familiar with shell programming in both Unix and Windows environments.

. Develop and enhance system administration processes, procedures and tools.

. Experience with the complete lifecycle of a database from data model specifications to design.

. Implementation and support of the database as well as remote access and disaster recovery best practices.

. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

. Advanced knowledge of SQL and be able to assist developers.

. Software development skills or architecture including Microsoft.NET, Business Objects and Reporting Services a plus.

. Advanced degree, superior people and team skills and the ability to "do whatever it takes to satisfy" a must.
