Senior Unix Systems Administrator to join our team in
Providence, RI.
Job Responsibilities:Build, install, configure, maintain, repair a complex network of enterprise-level AIX servers
Install, configure, and maintain commercial application software and middleware
Work with partners in Network Engineering, Deskside
Support, Application Development and Maintenance, and customers to deliver world-class solutions
Required Skills:
In depth knowledge of AIX server technology, including installation via NIM, LPAR configuration using HMC, performance monitoring
Demonstrated programming skills in Korn shell and/or Perl
Strong team player, collaborator, verbal and written communication skills
Desired Skills:
Experience with the installation and configuration of database software, such as Oracle and DB2
Experience with the installation and configuration of application server software, such as WebSphere and JBoss
Experience with the installation and configuration of middleware software, such as WebSphere MQ
Familiarity with AIX virtual I/O features
Familiarity with a SAN environment
Familiarity with Tivoli Storage Manager
Certifications in AIX technologies desirable but not required
Certifications in relevant middleware and application server software desirable but not required
Minimum Educational Requirements:
BS Computer science, MIS, or equivalent
