SQL Server Support Analyst (Job #1001) in Boston, MA

This position will help support change and problem management, application and configuration management and production support of business applications and customer web sites ensuring that the systems and data are accurate and available in a 24x7-operating environment. This job requires gaining a strong working knowledge of business applications as well as a strong understanding of how business users could utilize or adapt the software to support their areas of responsibility. This is a hands on position requiring both leadership and technical problem solving skills. Responsibilities Executes, maintains and documents data load jobs, application content updates, client data exchange processes and other data-related processes in support of the business. Automates processes when applicable. Working with Business and Client Development, implements new client data exchange processes and setup of clients in business systems in support of new client programs. Ensures that new processes are documented and supportable. Continuously audits and analyzes all data to ensure high data quality Responsible for the timely, efficient, and concise response and resolution of application/data issues reported through the help desk. Requires analysis of the incident and business circumstances involved, troubleshooting and testing to identify the possible cause of the issue, determining and documenting the appropriate course of action to resolve the issue while attempting to minimize business disruption, and documenting all actions taken during the resolution process. Recommends application and/or process enhancements and provides a business case to show the appropriate ROI. Ensures that all servers supporting the application environments have the most up to date OS/application patches. Supports implementation and documentation of the tasks and processes necessary to monitor and report on performance and availability of applications. Supports testing, implementation, and documentation of backup/recovery procedures to avoid outages of mission critical systems supporting 24x7 business functions, including disaster avoidance and recovery planning. Experience Required A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a related field, combined with at least 5 years of progressively more responsible experience. Application management experience in a multi-tier environment (particularly using Win2000 and Win2003). Strong SQL Server (T-SQL) database skills.
