Their tech spec program is essentially a training program to develop patent attorneys. Candidates gain practical experience by working at the clients offices during the day while attending law school (at the firms expense) at night. Their tech spec program in particular, and the field of patent law in general, is filled with individuals who started their professional careers as engineers or scientists, but became dissatisfied with those career paths and sought something new. Our clients firm is devoted entirely to the practice of intellectual property law and their practice areas include patent prosecution, litigation, trademarks and copyrights, design around strategies, investor and acquisition diligence, as well as interference work and IP agreements. Technology Specialist The Technology Specialist requires an individual with a degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Science, Physics, or a related field. The Technology Specialist will apply his/her extensive theoretical knowledge of Electronics and Computers in order to prepare related patent applications and agency correspondence for client intellectual property efforts. The individual will also perform the following duties: · Consult with attorneys in the Electrical and Computer Technology Practice Group on critical technical issues as they relate to specific patent applications; · Review and analyze technical literature and patent documents, including research and invention disclosures, to establish patentability of inventions to prepare patent applications and for client due diligence efforts; · Consult with inventors to identify and clarify matters related to pending patent applications; · Write descriptions of scientific research for inclusion in patent applications.
