Help Desk Analyst I in Boston, MA

Our client, a leading non-profit organization in Boston has an immediate need for a User Support Specialist / Help Desk Technician due to company growth.

We are seeking a Help Desk consultant who is available to start work immediately.

Daily responsibilities include:
• Provide system administration for file, print, e-mail and application servers in a Linux and Netware environment.
• Maintain and support phones/PBX equipment.
• Provide the initial point of contact for technical problems and perform troubleshooting tasks, problem diagnosis, resolution, or escalation Assist and independently deploy special projects and network implementations.
• Responsible for providing technical support for resolution or escalation of desktop, network, server, software, and/or workgroup related problems.
• Responsible for assisting all users with their questions about any of our supported software and systems to the best of his/her ability, in a professional and courteous manner.
• Development of end-user documentation consisting of configuration, support information, and useful software/hardware tips.
• Perform other duties as needed.

A significant portion of the time spent in this position will be assisting with end-user problems, with the remaining time spread over the remaining areas listed above.

Experience: QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants for this position should possess the following:
&#149; 3+ years of end-user support experience.
&#149; 3+ years of server, LAN or WAN support experience.
&#149; Experience with Windows NT/2000/XP.
&#149; Experience with Microsoft Office
&#149; Novell 6.X/GroupWise experience preferred but not required. (Certified Novell Administrator or equivalent preferred).
&#149; RedHat/SUSE Linux experience preferred but not required (RH Certified Technician or equivalent preferred).
