System Administrator Analyst ( File / Print ) in Boston, MA

This position includes, but not limited to, performing installations of servers, customization and maintenance of the operating system, on-site break fix for the servers and systems software products in support of business processing requirements. Performs system software installations and upgrades system software changes. Tests software updates and patches. Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels. Conducts system analysis, process change management and recommendations for possible improvements of operating system software. Provides in-depth diagnosis for operation systems software/hardware failures, develops solutions and documents resolution for each trouble ticket event. Ensures server data integrity through evaluation, implementation and management of appropriate software and hardware solutions. Ensures all system backup procedures and directs recovery operations in the event of destruction of all or part of the operating system or other system components. Provides technical assistance for users on system functions including application of system features. Monitor, manage and forecast disk space utilization on all responsible servers for capacity planning. Engineer will also be responsible for Network Printer Management to ensure all printers within the Managed Print environment are working properly.

Maintain back-end Windows infrastructure including AD, Exchange, file/print servers, backups, and supporting services.
Provide 2nd level support for issues escalated from the Corporate IT Helpdesk.
Contribute toward internal IT projects to support company objectives.
Documentation of operational procedures
Participates in IMAC of equipment (new system deployment and system upgrades to keep the server environment stable and interruptions to a minimum).
Performs a variety of maintenance tasks associated with the support, modification, and updating of the hardware and software systems to include system software installations, upgrades, tests, troubleshooting and fixes
May perform other support activities to help ensure consistent performance of the operating and hardware systems
Provides diagnosis for operating systems software/hardware failures and develops solutions.
Escalate to 3rd level support where appropriate
24 x 7 on call availability

Experience: Required Skills:

&#149; Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast paced production environment
&#149; Strong knowledge of Exchange 2007
&#149; Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Windows Server 200x, Windows XP, Vista)
&#149; IBM and HP server break fix knowledge
&#149; Minimum 3 years of Microsoft Windows system administration experience
&#149; Minimum 3 years Active Directory experience
&#149; Understanding of TCP/IP protocol family
&#149; Understanding of DNS, DHCP, Domain Servers, Exchange, IIS, Windows 2000 and 2003, SAN technology

Desired Skills:
&#149; Familiar with healthcare/medial terminology
&#149; 4-year college degree or 2 year associates degree in computer technology related studies
&#149; Cisco route/switch experience is a plus
&#149; Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
&#149; IBM and HP certification
