We have an immediate need for a Deskside Support Specialist - 6 month contract

JOB DESCRIPTION
Support the messaging project by performing the technical migration/transition support required to move internal users from Lotus Notes to Outlook, as well as general support required to migrate same users to the domain.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DELIVERABLES
- Provide PC / Mac desktop technical support and troubleshooting to internal clients, primarily in Boston, but also in other office locations as required.
- Monitor Heat ticketing queue to insure customer requests are addressed in a timely manner
- Document all troubleshooting in Heat ticket or as prescribed by the project leader.
- Inform the user of any unusual delays in the resolution of his/her call.
- Keep current on technical related issues as it relates to the hardware and software used in the environment.
- No supervision of others. Heavy interaction with both internal clients and peers within department.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Required: PC / Mac troubleshooting experience with Microsoft XP operating systems and related Microsoft Office software, Lotus Notes, and connectivity software (dial-up, broadband, wireless, etc.). Basic understanding of networking is required.
Preferred: Hands-on installation and troubleshooting experience with the software and hardware mentioned.
Required: Strong organization, interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
Preferred:

Required: 3-5 years Desktop support experience
