Sr. Systems Administratior (MCSE OR MCSA Requied) in Boston, MA

Responsible for the collaboration, installation, maintenance and monitoring of the server environment. Will work with the server team to lead in opportunities and recommendations to improve incident response time, end user customer support, work process and systems performance. Will work to integrate the Server systems in a multi platform, protocol and operating systems environment. Requires proficiency in VMware, Microsoft and Citrix environments..Responsibilities:. Plans, coordinates, implements and supports IT operational projects. Use of project planning and management, including scope, time and resource management.. Pro-actively administers and manages operations processes.. Researches and tests upgrades/updates to existing technology.. Recommends new technologies.. Researches vendor products and recommends purchase, development or enhancement of IT resources with an eye towards their strategic impact.. Coordinates and reviews the installation of hardware and software on Servers.. The ability to independently manage complex projects.. Ability to work independently and manage people in a cross functional relationship.. Maintains operating procedures and associated documentation. Mentors junior IT staff with standard IT best practices.. Reviews and monitors the daily operations of the Servers and/or applications in a 7X24X365 operations environment.. Works with management and the support center to ensure 100% system availability and support all aspects of the Disaster Avoidance and Recovery process.. Troubleshoots Server systems to maintain operational integrity and coordinates efforts with vendors for upgrades and network maintenance. Requiring advanced level of technical problem solving ability. Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems.. On call 7X24X365 via company issued cell phone and pager.. Personal transportation required (Automobile for travel between and support of local offices).. Requires a wired home phone.. Multi-site/country organization and therefore travel may be required. Education/Experience Required: · A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience· Proficiency in VMware, Microsoft and Citrix (certifications preferred)· 7+ years of job-related experience in Windows Servers/Active Directory in 24x7 environmentEssential Skills:· Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills· Demonstrated ability to simultaneously handle a large and diverse number of technical tasks and issues with tact, cooperation and persistence· Negotiation skills and partner management· Strong documentation skills· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
