Sr.UNIX SYSTEMS ADMIN in Boston, MA

This is still a major need for us. Our client has rejected all candidates in the process to this point. We need absolute experts for this job. The client is starting to select candidates to interview. We will accept resumes from candidates anywhere in the country but you have to be able to fly them in at your own cost for an on-site interview after the phone screen in-order for them to get an offer. We have had 2 candidates selected for interview at this point, but there are multiple openings. These are new multiple openings for UNIX Systems Admins with our client.Location is here in Boston. Prefer local candidates to Boston. Candidates must be able to interview on-site at own expense. Needs are Immediate. Candidates must have heavy: UNIX, LINUX, SOLARIS, AIX, and LDAPFinancial experience is HUGE PLUS. Length: 1 year contract. NOTE: CANDIDATES MUST COMPLETE ATTACHED QUESTIONAIRRE HONESTLY, MAKE SURE THEY DO NOT LOOK UP THE ANSWERS, BECAUSE THE TECHNICAL PHONE SCREENS ARE VERY DIFFICULT AND IT WILL JUST BE A WASTE OF TIME IF THEY CANNOT ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS. All candidates will need to complete a pre-screen, phone screen and in person interview. Long term contract with perm conversion down the road possible and they would consider sponsorship potentially. Please make sure you ask all H1 candidates where they are in their GC process and include that with the submittal along with their test answers (test attached to requirement).They want someone who has a good balance of Unix (Solaris) and Linux, they have limited Windows and AIX so not really interested in those types of candidates. Our financial services client is seeking a senior UNIX Systems Administrator/Engineer to join them on a long term contract basis. The environment consists of approximately 200 central Solaris / AIX / Red Hat Linux / Win2K servers. These servers run a variety of software including Veritas Suite, Apache, WebSphere, Siteminder, SonicMQ, LDAP. These servers serve over 20 investment management applications developed in house and used by hundreds of institutional investors worldwide daily. They will need candidates that have Enterprise Level experience in this area and who can "hit the ground running". Responsibilities:· Install, configure, manage and support systems software and middleware within the Unix server production environment.· Perform new system software and middleware deployments 3-6 times per month.Requirements: · Large environment experience of at least 150+ servers with focus on enterprise level knowledge of LINUX, SOLARIS or VERITAS.
