PREMIER FIELD ENGINEERING Enjoy being where the action is? Then this is the position for you! Primary responsibilities include providing on-site technical support solutions for customer service delivery and availability, while ensuring satisfaction with Microsoft software. The successful candidate will be capable of providing field technical support presence for groups in the Microsoft Services organization, including but not limited to Premier and Professional Support, Microsoft Consulting Services, and escalation engineers. The Premier Field Engineer acts as the primary onsite technical contact, providing customer visibility, advanced technical troubleshooting support and problem resolution for Product Support Services and corporate customers, including issues escalated to the highest levels of management. PFE s provide technical support including product technical training onsite, as well as via telephone, and electronic media. Individuals must be able to manage hot issues by setting customer expectations, devising and implementing action plans, being available 24x7 and professionally communicating to all parties involved.Expert level knowledge in at least one of the following areas is required: System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) - Solid understanding of standard client/server, networking, and Internet fundamentals and a superior knowledge and demonstrated technical proficiency in System Center Operations Manager with experience in managing medium to large environments. The candidate should be able to troubleshoot all aspects of SCOM effectively and understand the product configuration, flow and logging in detail. The candidate should understand fully the base OS and SCOM Management Packs and be able to discuss in detail at least one of the following Management Packs: Active Directory, Exchange, IIS or SQL including configuration, tuning and customization. In addition, experience in other Microsoft Management technologies, including Active Directory services (AD), SMS 2003, System Center Essentials and WSUS is desired. Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) - A superior knowledge and demonstrated technical proficiency in SCCM 2007 with experience in managing medium to large environments. Ability to troubleshoot all aspects of SCCM effectively and understand the product flow patch management, software distribution and logging in detail. In addition, experience in other Microsoft Management technologies, including Active Directory services (AD), Microsoft Operations Manager Platforms - Windows 2003/2008, Active Directory design, deployment, Domain Services (AD DS), Lightweight Directory Service (AD LDS), Certificate Services, Federation Services, and Rights Management Services. Proficiency in DNS, DHCP and other related areas with troubleshooting at the expert level within large network environments. Secondary expertise in more than one of the following products: Windows desktop Operating Systems, Windows server Operating Systems, Network Load Balancing, MS Cluster Server/Multi-vendor Cluster and SAN implementations, SQL, IIS, ISA. Information Worker and Collaboration (Sharepoint) - Windows SharePoint Services 3.0/2.0, SharePoint Portal Server 2003, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS), Content Management Server, Project Server 2007, IIS, SQL Server, development with .NET languages, XML and Scripting technologies, and data access technologies. Practical user mode debugging is a preferred skill, but not required.
