UE DESIGNER in Boston, MA

User Experience and Visual Designer Job Summary: The User Experience and Visual Designer is part of the Web Development team and supports creative design initiatives for web, print, and multimedia projects. The UE Designer analyzes issues and proposes user-centered solutions for internet, print, multimedia, and photography projects. Duties: Web ? Design web-based application layouts that are compliant with usability/user requirements and programming implementation needs ? Create original logos; develop color palettes, typography treatment, imagery, and auxiliary brand attributes ? Oversee all implementation of visual design through to development stages by working closely with development team ? Create interactive, animated presentations and demos using Flash, Dreamweaver, and other multimedia tools ? Participate in initial requirements gathering process, analyze business and user needs ? Work with project teams to design overall informational architecture/ wire frames and navigation hierarchy for company?s websites and applications. Create design documents ? Assist in creating usability test scenarios and conducting usability tests on proposed wire frame prototypes and/or Photoshop prototypes for different user groups ? Participate in final product testing to insure consistent usage of all visual elements implementation. Create appropriate documentation/guidelines to insure consistency of all future enchantments. ? Assist in updating content for current websites, manuals and forms Print ? Assist with various print projects for the company ? including annual report covers, pamphlets, and various marketing collateral materials ? Help define specific goals and objectives. Recommend best practice solutions and create a wide variety of internal print materials ? Assist in conducting photo shoots and generating high-resolution photography for various project needs ? Conduct research and select appropriate vendors for print projects. Manage pre-flight and print needs as required Qualifications: ? BFA or formal training in Graphics and Web Design preferred (including layout, typography, composition, and color theory) ? 5+ years of experience in any of the following: graphic design, web design, or interactive design ? An online or printed portfolio, which includes a wide body of high-level print and Web work demonstrating creativity and industry acumen while satisfying business and client requirements ? Work experience creating HTML templates, CSS/style sheets, web sites and applications using Dreamweaver, Flash, and other multimedia technologies ? Solid design skills in creating visual layouts using industry-standard applications: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and QuarkXPress ? Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat Suite strongly preferred ? Outstanding verbal and written communication skills ? Excellent multi-tasking, time management, and project management skills ? Ability to work independently within various project teams ?
