Systems Engineer

Responsibilities:
? Design, build, implement, and manage products and solutions for company?s production environment
? Monitor and maintain all production system equipment and services
? Ensure 24/7 availability of the production application environment
? Develop system analysis and reporting tools and tools for task automation
? Maintain network and systems configurations
? Document technical environments, processes and procedures, testing plans, project plans.
? Research and consult with vendors on new equipment and software purchases; manage vendor relationships as needed
? Facilitate the deployment and configuration of server hardware/software within the data center.
? Serve as the primary technical lead on complex implementation projects.
? Actively participate in decision making with management and seek to understand the broader impact of current decisions.
? Generate innovative ideas and challenge the status quo.
Required Skills and Experience:
? Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent experience required.
? Must have 7+ years total experience with network administration and systems architecture, as well as hardware and software troubleshooting
? One or more Systems or Network certifications desirable: CNA, CNE, MCP, etc.
? Must have experience with equipment, topology and up-time requirements of a 24x7 hosted environment in a data center
? Must have high proficiency in the Windows 2000/2003 Server Operating Systems
? Experience with setting up automatic real-time alert procedures for problems with the network/site/production servers.
? Experience with mail server administration and support
? Solid understanding of design, implementation and maintenance of local area networks, including active network devices such as switches, hubs, routers, firewalls.
? Detailed understanding of TCP/IP address in schemes and subnet masking.
? Must have hands-on working knowledge with Win2k and Win2003 Active Directory topologies, DNS Server, DHCP configuration.
? RedHat (Linux) experience and experience in financial institution is preferred.
? Demonstrated understanding and practical experience with network security design and security policies.
? Demonstrated ability of high degree of independence and exercising sound judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of duties, which are often characterized by frequent changes.
? Ability to move swiftly from concepts and theory to action.
? Ability to visualize breakthrough process improvements and champion efforts to build capabilities throughout company.
? Prior experience managing strategic vendor relationships
? Must have previous experience in an ASP or high volume website environment
? Must have excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills.
? Strong written and verbal communication skills.
? Must be highly self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervision
? Must have strong organizational and documentation skills
