As a Senior J2EE Engineer you will significantly contribute to the architectural vision of our software products by making strategic design and development decisions that affect our overall technical direction. Technical responsibilities include the architecture, design, development, and maintenance of our service-oriented application platform. We are seeking hands-on architects experienced in developing commercially-available J2EE software applications.

Reports to: Chief Software Architect

Responsibilities
You will participate in analysis and design of specific application or framework enhancements. Determine tradeoffs, estimates, and overall approach. You will provide design support for object and relational modeling, data integration, business services, platform infrastructure. Work with QA, release engineering, and product management on packaging, deployment, and automated builds

Experience: Required Background/Experience
  • 4+ years of software engineering/development experience, specifically at least 2+ years of experience in design and development of Java EE-based web applications
  • Experience with the complete software development lifecycle and object-oriented design and analysis
  • Experience collaborating with senior technical staff
  • Key Technologies: Java EE, Tapestry, Hibernate, XML, XSLT, DHTML, Servlets, Ant, JUnit, Shell Scripting
  • Database Experience: SQL, PL/SQL, Data modeling, Oracle
  • Application Servers: JBoss, BEA WebLogic
  • Tools: Eclipse, Rational Clear Case, and Clear Quest
  • Platforms: Windows, Solaris, Linux

Major Pluses to Have
  • BS or MS degree
  • Clustering experience
  • ERP Integration with PeopleSoft and SAP
  • Data warehousing experience
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
