Engineering Support Services Support Technician – Desktop Support

Our client has an immediate need for a Support Services Technician to join their Desktop Support team.

This position is responsible for providing technical support for the day to day operations of the Engineering team in the MIS group.

The ideal candidate must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where the support needs are ever- changing. This role will enable you to have the opportunity to utilize a broad range of operating system, hardware and software knowledge in your support effort.

Must have experience working in a Windows and Linux Environment supporting the VMware product.


Responsibilities
- Set up of new equipment, both loaned and purchased, tear down of old equipment
- Perform hardware troubleshooting and problem resolution, including coordinating repairs with vendors
- Installation and support of desktop software and applications, including operating systems, MS Office productivity tools, and email services
- Troubleshoot and resolve various file and print issues
- Assist in office relocations as required
- Manage trouble ticket queue: input, update and close tickets as work is completed
- Escalate trouble tickets in queue to appropriate resources and follow up to ensure completion within designated SLAs (Service level agreements)
