Lead Systems Analyst in Boston, MA

Job Summary

The Reference Data Systems team is seeking a Lead Systems Analyst who will be the domain expert for fixed income and derivative instruments. The Lead Systems Analyst will manage projects throughout the systems development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, functional specifications, systems and integration testing, and documentation. Responsibilities will also include ongoing support, problem resolution, and responding to ad hoc requests.

This position requires a high level of direct interaction with the business users, and excellent communication and delivery skills. This individual must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work on a variety of assignments with people at all levels of the organization

Experience: Domain Knowledge: Fixed Income and Derivatives. We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert.

2. Investment Management experience required. We are looking for a candidate that has run projects end to end. This individual will run the Strategic Derivative program.

3. Strong Leadership and Systems Analysis skills. This individual will be leading consultants.

4. a CFA or working toward a CFA is a big plus. This individual will interface with the front office.

Job Qualifications

A minimum of ten years experience as a systems or business analyst
Strong understanding of Fixed Income and Derivative instruments
Experience in Financial Services or Investment systems
Experience writing requirements, functional specifications, use cases, and test plans
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Ability to coordinate projects across several departments
Self-motivated and willing to work in an energetic, fast paced team environment.
Experience in writing basic sql commands and comfort in navigating relational databases
Experience in management of mission-critical production support
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Management Information Systems, or related fields

Job Responsibilities

Partner with the Investment Data and Derivative Service business team to define and document new requirements as they relate to Fixed Income and Derivative specific initiatives
Champion the user's needs to the software and quality assurance engineers, insuring the "what" and "why" are effectively communicated
Assist in the planning and design of security reference data within Enterprise Architecture's strategic data management platform
Work collaboratively with IS and business teams across Wellington (e.g. Investment and Client Applications, Transactions Applications, and Infrastructure)
Document, track, and research production issues and work with appropriate teams on the resolution
Manage projects, budgets, and time lines in a structured way, to ensure the delivery of effective business solutions, on time and to an agreed quality level
