Sr. Systems Analyst Market Data in Boston, MA

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for the support of our Market Data Services infrastructure and will report to the Manager of Market Data Services. This position will work with vendors and IS teams as required to identify and resolve technical problems and complete strategic infrastructure initiatives associated with our Market Data Services infrastructure.

Job Abstract

A solid understanding and deep appreciation of Market Data Services products, systems, and networking are required. The successful candidate must bring a successful track record of building strong relationships with clients and vendors. Strong working knowledge and hands on experience with Unix, market data service products, vendor services, TCP/IP, routers, and network switches is required. Previous project management experience is required. A Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related discipline plus 7+ years related experience in the financial services industry is a must.

Experience: This is a Lead level candidate in the Market Data environment that has a strong understanding of 3rd party market data products (i.e. Reuters, Thompson, Bloomberg).

2. The candidate needs to have an Architectural overview however this is a very Hands on' role. The right candidate will have both an Engineering and Analyst focus. This person will understand the business uses and then tailor the technical application. This will be the Senior Tier 3 go to' person.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate for this position will have very strong customer service skills and the ability to manage multiple and diverse technology issues to resolution with minimal supervision. This position requires someone who is self-motivated and resourceful in identifying and escalating issues appropriately.

Bachelor's degree required
Direct experience managing Market Data Services architectures and technical relationships with vendors such as Reuters, Thompson, and Bloomberg
7+ years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
Demonstrated ability to problem solve, make appropriate decisions, and effectively communicate both in written and oral form
Proven track record and ability to deliver in a global environment
Strong project management and client support skills
Relationship management experience
Hands-on working knowledge of UNIX and Windows operating systems
Knowledge of scripting languages, vi, and shell environments
Working knowledge of TCP/IP and routing protocols
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to develop effective working relationships, demonstrate customer focus, work within a team environment, and manage vendors
