Senior Tester in Boston, MA

Location: Boston, MA

Terms: 6 month contract



JOB TITLE: Senior Tester - Generalist


POSITION RESPONSIBILITY (3-5 sentences): Senior tester generalist with overall QA capabilities. Able to lead significant parts of a project, Excellent and current technical skills covering such technical areas as: three tiered architectures, Java, http, xml, TIBCO, web services, Oracle data base conversions, etc.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DELIVERABLES (General description)
Contribute content to the Test Plan to include identification of the test scenarios
Write detailed test cases
Identify and create test data
Manually execute test cases, document defects and validate defects as fixes are released for retest
Provide test case execution status to the test lead
Use SAP to drive test outputs into an application or to view / validate SAP test inputs from connected applications
Ability to use SQL statements to verify data / test results
Review contents of selected application logs to ensure that nothing is missed
Trace requirements to test cases
Utilize Excel/Access as tools for analysis and/or reporting
General
Ability to work as member of a QA team as well as to work as the lead of QA activities
Able to manage tasks with limited supervision
Good written / communication skills
Attention to detail
Self starter - quick learner
Schedule driven - Results focused

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Required: More than 5 years solid testing experience with at least 2 years of leading projects Preferred: Knowledgeable of Java, http and xml.
Required: Proficient in QA concepts, processes and deliverables Preferred: Knowledge of SAP
Required: Familiar with three tiered web-based architectures Preferred: Knowledge of UNIX
Required: Browser / UI testing
Required: Proficient with testing storefronts


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Required: Technical degree Preferred: TIBCO
Required: Testing on an enterprise wide project Preferred: SAP
Required: Experience with enterprise-wide system integration testing Preferred:
