Parsons is currently seeking an Engineering Coordinator in Hopkinton, Boston, MA

Coordinates the flow of technical documents (requisitions, data books, drawings, specifications, calculations) between project operations, engineering disciplines, and other related support groups.Incumbent is typically responsible for a medium to large-sized project.

Under close supervision, determines methods and solutions for standard systems analysis and/or computer application problems associated with document control.At this level, the engineer is in a developmental mode and assignments are directed at gaining exposure to utilizing standard information technology techniques and applications, and becoming familiar with Company procedures.
Expedites review, signature approval, and release of supplier and internally produced project documents.Establishes and maintains files and computerized indexes for active engineering documents.Generates electronic/hardcopy reports as needed by the project or management.

Prepares transmittals for engineering documents and requisitions.Arranges document cataloging, packing, and long-term storage or disposal of appropriate engineering documents at time of project closeout.

Analyzes and evaluates existing and proposed document control software platforms and methods.Designs new or modified computer programs, systems, and related procedures in accordance with user specifications.Prepares program specifications, develops coding logic flowcharts, and reviews recommended solution with user.

Encodes, tests, debugs, and installs the operating programs and procedures in coordination with user requirements, and prepares related documentation.

Keeps abreast of current technologies.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Experience: PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

4-year degree in Computer Science or related curriculum (or equivalent) and 0-3 years of related work experience.

Proficient keyboard skills and a working knowledge of MS Windows and related word processing, spreadsheet, and database software is required. Some assignments may require a working knowledge of EDMS (Electronic Document Management System) and DMCS (Document and Material Control System), as well as a working knowledge of CAD operations. An understanding of how to identify and handle drawings and other technical engineering documents is also required. Good written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with project personnel and management.

Requires a working knowledge of current software applications and technology. Proficiency in utilizing at least one programming language (e.g., C++, Visual Basic, JAVA, etc.) with a familiarity of other languages. Also requires good written and oral communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with user and IT colleagues on technical and non-technical subjects.
