JOB DESCRIPTION

Senior Performance Tester

Seeking Senior Performance Test Lead with background in enterprise, SOA-based applications. Must have proven experience in developing performance test strategy and identifying load, capacity, and bottleneck issues. Must be able to work closely with development and environment specialists to aid in identifying and resolving issues.

Responsibilities:
Design and execute capacity, stress, and benchmark tests for transformation projects.
Create and execute tests/scripts to identify possible application or environment issues that affect performance, as well as to establish user experience, capacity, and endurance benchmarks. Develop performance test strategy that is aligned with business requirements and expectations.
Work with the Development and Environment groups to identify and resolve performance issues. Also assist with identifying and resolving performance issues that arise in production.
Create and maintain project plan for tracking performance program progress and milestones.
Analyze test results and identify possible causes of any performance issues. Work with the Development/Environment teams to determine possible paths to resolution.
Provide ongoing reporting and risk analysis with regard to test results and issues.
Develop and maintain solid product knowledge and stay current with ongoing trends and tools in performance testing. Propose ongoing program enhancements.
Assist with the identification and resolution of performance issues that arise in production.
Candidate will be expected to define, execute, and own program with input from management.

Qualifications:
B.S Computer Science or related discipline.
7+ years experience, performance test for enterprise application.
Must have expert knowledge of LoadRunner and working knowledge of MS-Project. LoadRunner certification preferred but will accept equivalent experience.
Certifications related to Websphere or database-related topics helpful.
Experience with LoadRunner; Websphere configuration and performance-related issues; database concepts; SOA architectures/concepts; Web-based UIs required.
Skilled in using LoadRunner to develop robust, real-world based performance tests.
Able to work independently, with some input from management, to define program and realize goals.
Skilled in analyzing technical data including test results, system configuration information, development input, etc., to diagnose probable causes for performance issues.
Experienced in articulating direction and results and presenting information clearly for both technical and management audiences.
Working knowledge of Websphere configuration/tuning and database concepts. Able to apply these skills and communicate clearly with other technical personnel.
Able to prioritize tasks and exercise judgment regarding multiple projects.

Candidate must have good planning skills and excellent written/verbal communication skills. Position requires demonstrable expertise in application server and database concepts, web-based UIs, and system configuration issues that affect performance.

This is a key position with high visibility in the department. Must be able to facilitate team problem-solving across multiple functional groups and clearly articulate goals and results to management.
