Our client is looking for a skilled Database Architect that can provide architectural design and direction on multiple implementations. You must be skilled with multiple databases including SQL Server, Oracle, and other RDBMS systems. You will be responsible for providing database analysis, production support, back-up and recovery as well as physical and logical designs for new enhancements to the RDBMS. The database architect will also be a leader and provide team members with technical direction.Specific responsibilities include database development and maintenance for the production and database development. This includes analysis, design, back-up and recovery, performance tuning, security and reporting functions. You will be responsible for the design and development of high performance large scale relational databases, specifically with SQL Server. Other responsibilities will include ensuring the database group adheres to company service level agreements (SLA) and acting as the subject matter expert to a team of database developers. You will need to ensure reliability of company wide databases and provide effective backup and recovery processes, procedures, and solutions. You will also be expected to mentor more Junior level team members in their technical skills and development. Required Skills include experience architecting, monitoring, and tuning SQL Server and Oracle RDBMS. Must possesses advanced knowledge of data warehousing techniques, database tuning, security and implementation, with experience in data modeling and normalization. You must be skilled with SQL Server and Oracle internals with expert level experience with PL/SQL and T-SQL development. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent experience with ETL tools including SSIS, Informatica, and/or Ab Initio. Preferred skills include any previous programming experience in other client/server or Web based languages including JavaScript, HTML, DHTML, XML/XSL, Perl, SQL, JSQL, etc. Required experience includes 8 years of professional IT experience in SQL Server and Oracle database architecture, development, and administration experience. You must possesses excellent communication and leadership skills and a willingness to learn. We are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic and the proven ability to deliver results on time and in a professional manner. Required Education includes a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field. Any database certifications are a major plus.
