There is a chance this could work into a full time role if the fit is right. JOB DESCRIPTION: This is a contract position for a SQL Server database developer and involves direct responsibility for the design, maintenance, and support of the Client's Database Systems. The ideal candidate requires a high level of analytical and creative skills and an in-depth knowledge of database structure, configuration, methodology, design, and maintenance. Strong experience with MS SQL Server 2005 is a must! Typical duties include: Design, model and document database schemas. Develop stored procedures, views, functions and triggers. Perform analysis, tuning and optimizations of large (terabyte ) databases. Work closely with business users to understand the business needs and requirements and then design and develop database objects, structures and code that meet those requirements. Address data quality issues with users, vendors and management. Provide 3 rd tier production support for database systems. This includes participating in rotating on call shifts. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must live within commuting distance of downtown Boston and be currently permitted to work indefinitely in the U.S. Requires 5 Years of direct, hands-on experience as a SQL Server Database Developer. Basic experience with Microsoft Dot Net programming (C# preferred) Experience working with Scheduler Systems. MCDBA certification and knowledge of Business Intelligence applications is a strong plus. Experience in financial industry a strong plus Computer Science, Engineering, or related degree is required. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
