Desk Side Support Spec in Boston, MA

We are currently looking for an experienced Desktop Support Analyst! Job Responsibilities: Provide hands on support of various hardware and software including Windows 2000/XP and Microsoft Office products. The specialist will provide technical guidance in activities associated with the identification, prioritization, and resolution of reported problems either by telephone or on site. Activities include recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up steps. Daily responsibilities will consist of hardware/software support, including delivery and setup of various hardware components. Other duties will include support for any ad hoc request that pertains to the support of a user, the machine, or the network on which the machine resides. Performs general maintenance tasks, troubleshoots and repairs computer systems and peripheral equipment located throughout the organization. Maintains an adequate spare parts inventory of systems, subsystems, and component parts used in repair work. Prepares progress reports for work performed. Strong coordination required to support infrastructure for networks and telecommunications. Strong interpersonal skills required to translate technical issues in non-technical terms. Candidate should have exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work with internal and external teams to support and promote policies and methodologies. Candidates must have technical support experience in both desktop/laptop hardware and software issue resolution and configuration. All applicants must be familiar with routers and hubs, as well as having basic knowledge of server OS support. Proficiency in image ghosting, OS configurations, remote support (over phone using remote software), and peripheral device support is highly desired. Applicants must have excellent communication skills and customer service skill. Required Skills: Windows 2000/XP, AutoCad, Ghost, Remote Desktop, Experience in desktop support or equivalent education and experience is preferred. MCSE/MCP preferred. The candidate must be able to lift 80 pounds and crawl under desks to plug equipment into electrical outlets. Must be able to pass a background check as part of our clients pre-employment criteria.
