You will be responsible for leading the system design and analysis for software development projects in the Enterprise Data Systems team. In this role, you will work with the project managers, business analysts, and lead programmers to define the technical solution and roadmap for implementing business solutions into our applications environment with a strong focus on Fixed Income and data management. You will also assist the team leader in determining, technical assignments and overall application architecture as well as performing supervisory activities within the team.
Over the next 6 - 12 months, you will be working on Global Data Architecture to support local offices all over the world to provide them with reference data that is pertinent to local markets. You will also be architecting a J2EE application to respond to real-time data requests for swaps and other investment instruments. Our group will be moving from providing securities and pricing data in overnight batch processes to providing that data to front office trading applications in real time. You will play a pivotal role in this transition.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Partner with Fixed Income business professionals and peer systems organizations to proactively identify the firms growing Fixed Income pricing and analytics needs in order to develop data architecture solutions.
- Take a hands-on approach to application architecture and technical design to deliver business solutions.
- Be a team leader ensuring that team members are providing solutions that meet technical and functional requirements.
- Provide system design alternatives to help the programming teams define effort and implementation schedules for application development work.
- Ensure quality of product by enforcing design standards.
- Work with delivery teams to ensure that solutions are consistent with the design.
- Provide team leadership on assigned projects that may include both full time and consulting staff in a matrix organization.
- Architect SOA solutions for providing real-time pricing and securities data to trading applications
- Lead a team of 4 fulltime systems analysts plus additional contractor resources

Experience: Required Background/Experience
- You must have prior experience as a Software Engineer with deep exposure into Oracle PL/SQL, real-time event-driven programming, messaging including point-to-point and publish/subscribe models, Web Services, and SOA
- You must understand XML from an SOA context inside out!
- Experience in the design of n-tier applications and architectures
- At a minimum, you must currently be in a lead or architect role within a matrix organization
- Strong understanding of Investment Data and the Investment Management industry, with specific domain expertise in Fixed Income pricing and analytics
- 10+ years experience as a systems analyst and software engineer
- 5+ years experience in Data Management
Major Pluses to have
- Management experience including hiring, terminating, and delivering performance reviews
- Experience developing J2EE Applications
