Infrastructure Project Manager in Boston, MA

You will serve as a project manager on a series of projects within Enterprise Technologies. Your role is critical in coordinating cross-functional Enterprise Technologies generally and with our Application and Vendor partners as needed. You will be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of all project plans; for tracking the progress of the various sub projects; and for preparation of periodic reports for senior management on project progress. Integral to your duties will be overseeing communications planning for involving our internal clients in the process. The increasingly complex nature of Enterprise Technology functions and business growth are combining to provide the need for an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager like you!



Duties/Responsibilities



  • Preparation of project plans


  • Working with external vendors


  • Preparation and publication of meeting notes and minutes


  • Review and monitoring of project plans and milestones


  • Preparation of summary and presentation materials for senior management


  • Coordination with other groups and efforts


  • Budgetary review and participation


  • Build Consensus - Manage expectations, understand business to address needs, define impact of project changes to services, define project and service delivery standards to ensure high quality deliverables

Experience: Required Background/Experience



  • Bachelor's degree required


  • Specific experience managing IT Infrastructure including Communications, Server, and Operational related projects


  • Experience managing large rollouts such as corporate-wide Windows 2003 rollouts, Unix Team upgrades, or Data Center relocation projects


  • Budgeting and Project estimating skills are required


  • Training in advanced use of Microsoft Project and project management methodology


  • Understanding of IT Operational best practices and frameworks, such as ITIL, MSF, MOF, CMM, and CMMI


  • Able to manage large complex group-wide projects; prioritize and evaluate alternative project strategies; present & justify proposals to group management; provide leadership; organize multi-function project teams


  • Proficiency with MS Excel


  • Exposure to MS Project Server or PeopleSoft
