Professioanl Services - Desktop Support Consultant in BOSTON, MA

Robert Half Technology is hiring a Jr. Desktop Support consultant for a professional services client in Boston.

Responsible for the following:
•Install, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade computer hardware, software, personal computer networks, and peripheral equipment for employees.
•The Desktop Support Technician answers help desk requests for desktop support and selected hardware/software support at the desktop and participates in upgrades.

Experience: To be considered for this contract position the ideal consultant will be experienced with the following:

&#149; Image PC's and troubleshoot application and hardware performance problems related to PC's and
printers.
&#149; Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems and software, using standard business and
administrative packages.
&#149; Install, assemble, and configure computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware; pull cables and rewires or directs the rewiring of cables as required for new installations and office reconfiguration.
&#149; Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including hardware and software, e-mail, network and peripheral equipment problems; makes repairs and corrections where required.
&#149; Awareness of basic network & voice desktop physical connections and capable of troubleshooting
network line problems and adding new desktops to existing infrastructure.
&#149; Initiate and troubleshoot video and audio conferences.

Required Skills:
&#149; 2+ year experience in the information technology field ( Desktop Support and/or Jack of All Trades ), preferably in the professional services industry.
&#149; A+, Network+, and Microsoft certifications or equivalents a plus.
