Senior Media Producer in Boston, MA

CDI IT Solutions currently has a contract Web Producer opportunity with one of our premier clients in Boston, MA.

Responsible for project managing assigned technology products from conception through product release within assigned discipline or product area.

Manages budgets and schedules for assigned products, which may include CDs, DVDs, Web sites, software, and mixed media products (audio, video, and graphic media).

Manages partner and vendor relationships and other outside resources necessary for the development of assigned products.

Skills needed include mastery of the Technology Project Lifecycle; familiarity with working in a digital asset management system; excellent communication and managerial skills; proven track record in handling deadlines, budgets, and juggling multiple projects simultaneously.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DELIVERABLES (General description)

Project manages technology projects of varying sizes:

Ensures projects are completed on time and according to corporate quality standards,

Facilitates communication upward and across project team including project status, project schedules, justifications for variances, and technical information (architecture, design, specifications, and implementation objectives)

Manages assigned in-house development staff,

Writes requests for proposals; reviews and accepts as appropriate.

Writes and approves contracts

Manages vendors

Manages requests for marketing support, e.g., requests for screen shots, interactive pieces, etc.

Manages specifications for technology packaging

Forecasts and tracks actual spending for project budgets

Ensures projects are completed according to product specifications and are properly documented.

Implementation of the product satisfies the product specifications and content guidelines.

Product implementation is maintainable and extendible to accommodate future development and maintenance.


Ensures that:
Schedules are documented

Documentation gets appropriate level of technical review support.

QA test plans meet project requirements.

Appropriate development and corporate methods and procedures are followed.

Determines conversion guidelines and conveys to production when appropriate.

Conducts Post-Mortems to review project processes.

Management Responsibilities (3):
Manages associate media producers (production teams)

Manages external vendors and offshore teams

Contributes to performance reviews of associate media producers.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Excellent management skills with proven experience managing media technology projects.

Effective time management, communications, decision-making, presentation, human relations, financial, scheduling, and organizational skills.

Technical and comprehensive knowledge of broad business areas, including Technology Project Lifecycle. Proficient PC skills.

Required:
Experience with XML, Photoshop, HTML, CSS, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, FlashMX. Proficiency with Macintosh in addition to PC platforms.

Required: BA or BS minimum.

Required 3-6 years project managing technology products.
(In a publishing or educational software environment preferred)
