VP Of Program Management in Boston, MA

The VP of Program Management will be responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of complex projects and programmes aimed at supporting the Investment & Advisory division. This role serves as an experienced and capable program manager with a proven track record of delivery of complex initiatives from initiation through to deployment using standard project process as appropriate. The successful candidate will have a proven history of managing other project managers.Primary responsibilities: Define, document and execute several very large-scale global projects, actively participating in all phases of the project. Actively engage with multiple segments and the product and development groups to ensure synchronization and awareness of all plans. Create project plans and schedules and track progress against plans. Establish project milestones that reflect realization of agreed business benefits within timeframe and budget. Identify and track milestones, deliverables, risks, issues, changes and dependencies within the schedule. Project risk management - Identify, assess, manage and minimize project risks to successful project completion. Project change control - Ensure the appropriate solution or budget is presented so that projected business benefits are realised. Ensure revisions to the project are agreed from stakeholders and full impact of changes is understood by stakeholders. Work with stakeholders to ensure successful completion of all project deliverables. Ensure all groups are aware of project scope, their responsibility for delivering projects and milestones. Ensure the right resources are available at the right time with the right skills. Manage and develop project managers and drive their performance. Monitor and report status from each deliverable group to all relevant parties. Highlight divergence from scope and adjust where necessary. Gain commitments to ensure corrective actions are taken if costs, timescales or resources deviate from agreed tolerances. Participate in project estimations when requested to provide costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful completion of each project to be estimated. Ensure compliance with RPD and the I&A PMO Process. Maintain project library including all key project documentation. Contribute to the ongoing development of project process, tools and techniques such that they develop in line with company organisational, technical and commercial requirements. Perform other assignments as requested by manager. Bachelor's degree At least 8-10 years of project management experience or an equivalent combination of project management experience, business experience and education in the financial services business. Experience managing global geographically distributed and multi-disciplinary project teams Experience managing complex business projects with risk management, extensive project reporting and project management tools experience Experience creating complete detailed plans for complex projects Ability to track progress against plan Strong network with business, product, development, content and tech operations Must be capable of managing either a large global program with many workstreams or several large global projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment Excellent leadership and team building skills Knowledge of I&A technology strategy as well as commercial and product architecture a plus Proven implementation skills Experience with RPD project management process Very strong interpersonal skills particularly motivational, negotiation, listening, judgement, analytic ability, and conflict management skills Excellent organization, presentation, verbal and written communication skills to explain project goals and inspire support Extensive use of Microsoft Office, Project, Sharepoint and other project planning tools Domestic/Int'l travel may be required To Apply to this job go to http://www.GadBall.com or click here
