Help Desk Support in Boston, MA

Looking for a full-time contractor to work on a the help desk for a large financial firm in Boston. Your main role will be to support the Equity Research department. The average person working on the help desk has been there for four years. Good communications skills are required. Technical and/or Financial experience is preferred.

Installs and configures workstations, laptops, software applications, and printers using Windows XP and 2000. Troubleshoots and resolves issues via telephone and remote access tools. Identifies, resolves, escalates, and refers unresolved level 1 and 2 issues for follow up support.
Troubleshoots and corrects simple software problems to include resolving conflicts between applications, hardware and/or device conflicts, and operating system faults. Detects and removes computer viruses and downloads patches. Restores and repairs critical data files as required.
Updates hardware and software architecture databases to reflect installations, turn-ins, and changes in reportable software, to include software license tracking.
