Oracle Application DBA in Boston, MA

The Oracle Application DBA will be responsible for the Sheriff's Information Reporting System (SIRS) Application Database Design, Implementation, upgrades, database capacity and performance management, development and implementation of database backup and recovery plans and problem identification, resolution and support.

Oracle Application DBA will report directly to the SIRS Project Management Office, (PMO) and will participate in all aspects of migration process and go-live.



Qualifications:

6+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA supporting a large 24x7 mission critical application.
Experience in developing and implementing logical and physical Data Model, Database design and implementation for a large enterprise wide application system.
Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager version 9 or 10g
Experience with Oracle database versions and features (9i required, 10g a plus)
Experience of support Oracle 9iAS Forms services
Experience with SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning
Extensive experience with UNIX platforms, including UNIX shell scripting skills. Linux and encryption technologies a plus. Experience in configuration management processes and administration of supporting large application in multiple environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Database performance monitoring and tuning. Database backup and recovery Database troubleshooting and problem resolution
Database capacity planning, physical database design and implementation
Oracle Replication and Oracle Partitioning
Capable of working with multiple team leads to design and implement complete database solutions.
Must also be capable of working independently with a minimum amount of supervision.


Responsibilities will include the following:

Assist the System Engineers during Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle server software and related products
Evaluate Oracle features and Oracle related products.
Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
Responsible for logical and physical Data Model, Database design and implementation
Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
Perform database tuning and performance monitoring
Perform application tuning and performance monitoring
Setup and maintain documentation and standards
Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)
Work as part of a team and provide 7x24 supports when required
Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams
Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support.
