Production Oracle DBA in Boston, MA

BearingPoint's Defense practice is currently searching for an experienced production Oracle DBA. This position is located in Boston, MA.

The Senior Production DBA will be supporting an Oracle production environment with multiple daily data refreshes. Extensive experience with Oracle 9i and 10g administration and advance features is required. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience with production Oracle environments; be a self-starter and a team player with a strong client-focus; and possess strong planning, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities:
· Perform performance tuning and administrative functions for production and data warehousing environments
· Provide architecture "best-practice" recommendations to customers for Oracle database implementations
· Perform Oracle install, upgrades, patching and other administrative functions for customers
· Install and configure Oracle database environments on Sun Solaris or Linux, or Windows platforms
· Perform architecture and design of Oracle systems for clients
· Communicate projected timeline, develop applications according to customer specifications, provide detailed documentation of project work, and work with other consultants to provide quality solutions to customers
· Integrate enterprise-wide Identify Management solutions

Position-specific Requirements:
· Minimum of 5 years experience as an Oracle DBA - 9i, 10g in a DoD environment
· Fluent in Oracle RDBMS engine, including configuration and internal Oracle components
· 5+ years of installation experience for Oracle DB and AS environments - in highly available deployments and in disaster recovery environments
· 3+ years working with Oracle support for fast problem documentation and resolution
· Able to properly recommend disk space, RAM and CPU capabilities related to "sizing" an Oracle environment
· 3+ years with Oracle 9i, 10g in test, development, QA, and production environments
· Undergraduate degree
· U.S Citizenship is required for DoD National Agency Check

Preferred experience:
· Oracle Application Server (9i or 10g) from installation and administrative perspectives would be a strong plus
