System QA Analyst in Boston, MA

Experienced quality assurance analyst to lead a small QA team working on foreign exchange trading projects in a fast paced, global environment. Will work with vendor and internally developed applications and will lead globally distributed teams of QA analysts. Assists management with scheduling to ensure efficient and effective testing and focuses on process improvement. Participates as a senior member of project teams in a general leadership capacity.

Representative Duties:
.Manages assigned quality assurance projects including staff management and development of project plans.
.Develops and maintains ongoing relationships with business and technical communities.
.Evaluates tool sets, makes recommendations and justifies decisions.
.Assists QA teams in developing and executing quality assurance test plans, cases, scripts etc.
.Develops testing procedures for multi-user interactive applications.
.Reviews and inspects teamwork products and provides training and coaching.
.Manages application usability and load testing in pre-production and production environments.
.Prepares test scripts and data sets; configures testing tools and develops complete, automated regression suites.
.Prepares reports, presents information to management and responds to highly specialized/technical testing questions.
.Identifies potential testing problems and areas for improvement and develops and implements effective solutions.


Experience: Typical Experience and Qualities:
.B.S., Computer Science or related field
.5+ years of quality assurance experience in a financial software environment, preferably foreign exchange trading, through all stages of product development, including 1-2 years of experience designing automated tests
.Minimum one year additional supervisory or project management experience
.Financial trading domain knowledge essential, FX knowledge preferable
.Prior experience with regression test beds, change requests, issue resolution, etc.
.Prior experience with SQL database software, preferably Oracle, and related tools such as PL SQL Developer or Toad
.Prior shell script coding experience on multiple platforms
.Extensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Access, as well as Visio and Project
.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and large testing projects
.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
.Strong interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills
.Strong cross-platform knowledge, e.g. UNIX, LINUX, Windows XP etc
.Knowledge of systems design, testing and quality assurance methodologies
.Leadership, motivation and influencing skills
.Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast paced environment
.Familiarity with client/server or web enabled systems and automated testing tools
