JOB DESCRIPTION: This is a key systems engineering position supporting the Client's program. Program is a fast-paced, high-energy, large 5-year program to transform and modernize legacy software systems through implementation of an enterprise-wide Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).

Primary responsibilities will include providing data center infrastructure engineering support in the areas of software deployment, infrastructure and environment management, and customer support center operations.

As a member of the program's technical team, this position will require frequent interaction with the customer and SAIC management at various levels. Interaction on project work and participating in status briefings and planning meetings are expected. Initally, travel to the Washington DC Program Management Office is expected to be substantial (up to 50%), ramping down over time to support key program and customer meetings.


Experience: REQUIRED SKILLS:
· 5 years of experience in system administration including UNIX and Linux and Microsoft Windows.
· Experienced in systems administration of large systems.
· Understanding of relevant hardware systems and networking including Wintel and Sun servers, web-portal equipment, thin client architectures, network, and information security.
· Ability to work independently, self-organize, and accomplish tasks on aggressive timelines.
· Experience with large scale software systems integration (preferably with an emphasis in deployment, operations, maintenance, and support).
· Candidate must possess excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills to facilitate communications and manage relationships.
