Summary

As an Investment Administration Project Manager, you will lead and manage systems teams in initiatives and enhancements for the outsourcing of business back office and operation functions. Investment Administration is responsible for the support of Investment Data, Derivatives, Investment Administration and Security Services. These groups are seeking to leverage automation and outsourcing relationships to keep pace with the increasing volumes, complexity of transactions and the growing needs of the investment management clients. This position will give you exposure to the investment business and outsourcing while maintaining roots in Information Services. You will also gain broad and diversified experience in an excellent team environment. In this position, you are given the opportunity to make a substantial impact in key initiatives.



Reports to: Head of Investment Operations



Duties/Responsibilities



  • Work with the internal teams, vendors and issue owners to review, clarify and resolve service issues as well as define target dates and dependencies


  • Manage the vendor for resolution of issues in vendors systems


  • Identify, communicate, track, and mitigate project risks


  • Work with Application Teams and Resource Management for new sourcing needs and vendors


  • Assess performance of assigned project personnel and provide feedback


  • Lead high-visibility, systems projects, including budgets and timeframes, in a rapid software development environment, from discovery through to transition


  • Work with business partners to define, analyze and document requirements, as well as set priorities for new initiatives


  • Track and manage issue resolution, risk mitigation strategies and change control procedures


  • Coordinate the work of systems analysts, software developers, database architects and data vendors to design and implement robust technical solutions; manage consultants and coordinate contractor staffing


  • Work with external service providers to develop and support outsourced solutions


  • Provide input into processes based on lessons learned and best practices

  • Participate in defining strategic direction for the overall business architecture for Investment Operations

Experience: Required Background/Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or related discipline


  • 4+ years of experience as a dedicated Project Manager or Lead Systems Analyst, with 4+ years of prior experience in a related role as Business or Systems Analyst


  • Experience in a matrix management organization


  • Proficient in MS Project and MS Excel


  • Experience with vendor-relationship management best practices


  • Financial Services, Banking, or Investment Management background




Major Pluses to have



  • Outsourcing and Vendor Management experience is a plus


  • Exposure to the Back Office is a plus


  • PMI PMP certification is a plus
