Job Description:

The BI Cognos Specialist will be responsible for support and maintenance functions with Cognos Reporting and Cognos Planning application tools.

Responsibilities and skills include:

. Should insure that applications are tuned for performance, efficiency, and reliability.
. Work directly with users and other IS groups as required.
. Analyze customer requirements and provide solutions utilizing a full-lifecycle methodology.
. Be a liaison in gathering and understanding requirements.
. Manage ad-hoc requests. Create technical specification documents for new functionality and ensure that new solutions integrate seamlessly with existing technologies in compliance with IS Standards & Strategy.
. Serve as technical lead on small to medium size projects.
. Must also be able set and meet the expectations of management (internal IS teams and business users).
. Domain knowledge in BI and data warehousing.
. User support
. Demand management
. SLA reporting
. Specifications development for offshore team
. Create and manage new processes to improve system supportability or current support processes
. Strong communication and relationship building skills
. Strong documentation skills (grammar, structure, etc)

Experience: Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

. 1 year minimum experience with support and maintenance of Cognos applications
. 1 year minimum experience with development of Cognos applications

Preferred technical skills:

. 4 year degree required
. Cognos 8 BI (Reporting) experience
. Cognos Enterprise Planning experience
. Cognos Infrastructure administration experience
. Project Leadership experience
. Off shore team coordination experience
