Summary
As a Lead Cognos Architect on our Business Intelligence Team, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of our Business Intelligence Application Platform, which we are enhancing with new capabilities using the Cognos platform. You will focus primarily on building our Cognos capabilities, but you will also have analysis responsibilities that span our other Business Intelligence tool sets including Oracle Reports and internally built applications. You will have a high level of direct interaction with the Business Intelligence platform users as well as systems architects and engineers.
Reports to: The Business Intelligence Manager
Duties/Responsibilities

Architect and develop key components of a Business Intelligence Competency Center using Cognos and other Business Intelligence tools
Establish building blocks for the organization in the areas of functional architecture, technology architecture, data stewardship, and report delivery strategies
Design and implement the centralized Business Intelligence application platform and framework for use by other Business Intelligence delivery teams in the organization
Create and maintain the functional infrastructure
Develop, support, and maintain a shared application components toolkit
Communicate standards and best practices and train report developers on their use
Work with report developers, data modelers, and business analysts to ensure the Business Intelligence functional infrastructure meets the design and delivery needs of our business projects
Integrate Cognos with other Business Intelligence application platforms used internally
Provide Business Intelligence functional help desk with 1st and 2nd level on-call support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
Provide oversight and governance of Business Intelligence reporting performance

Experience: Required Background/Experience

Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or related discipline
3+ years of experience as a Cognos Systems Architect and Report Developer
5+ years of experience in the Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing fields
Strong data modeling and data architecture skills
Strong analytical skills
Experience in management of mission-critical production support

Major Pluses to have

Advanced degree in engineering or computer science
Experience in financial services systems and an understanding of investment management data and information delivery requirements
