Desktop Support Specialist in Boston, MA

Job Description Responsibilities include: solving day-to-day desktop related problems, hardware and software configuration issues, maintenance, repairs, equipment exchanges, roll outs, moves and any special projects under direction of a project manager. This person will be expected to work closely with the Business Units so they need to be extremely professional.

This person will be expected to handle high stress situations involving basic problem diagnosis and customer relations management.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years of direct desktop support experience, preferably in the Financial Services Industry. They must be familiar with all general aspects the following:

. PC hardware, desktop and laptop
. MS NT 4.0
. Windows 2000
. MS Office '97
. Office 2000
. MS Exchange and MS Schedule Plus
. Internet/Intranet Technology

They should also be familiar with general networking and server concepts, specifically TCP/IP and Windows NT Server. Basic knowledge of Blackberry handhelds, and financial and market data applications is a plus.

This individual must be team-orientated and excel in very fast-paced environments. They must have excellent customer relation, communication and organizational skills; be self-starting, able to set and prioritize short-term goals and have strong decision-making and trouble shooting abilities.

. PC Desktop and Laptop hardware configurations
. PC Desktop and Laptop hardware troubleshooting
. PC Software troubleshooting
. Moves/Adds/Changes
. PC Software installations
. General Computer lab maintenance
. Testing of applications
. PC OS builds

Education/Experience Prefer a 4-year degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or 2 years direct desktop support experience.

Other Duration: 6 - 9 months
