VB.NET Developer (2 Openings) in Boston, MA

Experience: Robert Half is currently seeking a VB.NET developer for a premier client in the financial district. This position is a long term contract which will be an initial 3 months but should extend through a year. Responsibilities &#149;In accordance with client methodologies and architecture principles, the developer will maintain current systems and provides technical support to develop new systems. &#149;This person is accountable for providing guidance on technical issues, standards, and methodologies to more junior Designers. &#149;Depending on technical capabilities accountabilities may include playing a lead designer role on a variety of initiatives, and providing functional direction to more junior staff. Qualifications &#149;Strong skills in design and programming, strong technical aptitude. &#149;Proven working experience in: VB6, VB.Net, &#149;Proven development experience in a technically complex environment. &#149;Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience a plus. &#149;Proven record of being an active learner. &#149;Knowledge of the insurance industry, client/server applications. &#149;Knowledge of .Net framework, and SQL triggers and stored procedures. &#149;Knowledge of PC's and MS office tools and of emerging technologies.
