Production Support Administrator in Boston, MA

Position Overview:

The Production Support Administrator is primarily responsible for resolving problems in Acadian's investment management production systems, 24/7 production systems monitoring, and deployment coordination in a primarily Windows 2003 Server environment.

This person will also be involved in project implementation including capacity planning and documentation.

Responsibilities

.Provide technical support for applications that serve the Investment Management business function. Maintain and monitor the operation and integrity of production systems.
.Participate in the Incident Management and Problem Management processes. Perform root cause analysis, resolution and reporting.
.Support the release management process, ensuring that all production changes and releases of in-house and third party applications are processed according to Change Management policies and procedures.
.Act as a technical liaison with outside vendors. Validate and implement the systems infrastructure of IT application projects.
.Other duties as assigned.


Experience: Qualifications:

This person must have a strong production support background with at least 5 years of experience and a progressive career path. An understanding of server hardware architecture and Windows networking is expected. The ability to spot problematic areas, analyze solutions, propose resolutions and direct their implementation is essential. A successful candidate is a motivated self-starter with an aptitude for learning new skills and environments quickly while multi-tasking on more than one deliverable.

Candidates must have a strong technical background, strong written and oral communication skills, project management skills, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.

Core technologies (expertise expected):
.5+ years experience in a Production Support/Release Management position preferably in a financial services company.
. Windows 2000/2003 Server
. TCP/IP networks
. Scripting

Secondary technologies (mastery or familiarity with preferred):
.Financial services applications such as: Aegis Barra, trade order management systems, Reuters/Bloomberg data feeds, Zacks, IBES, FactSet, StatPro, MarketQA, LatentZero
. Enterprise job scheduling systems (such as Autosys, Tidal, Activebatch)
. Enterprise monitoring/trending systems (NetIQ, HP Openview, Tivoli, Argent)
. VMware
. Active Directory
. Windows / UNIX security
. Exchange 2003
. Storage area networks
. UNIX Administration (preferably Solaris)
. Microsoft SQL Server
. IIS

Certifications:
. MSCE is a plus
. CISCO certification is a plus.
. A+ certification is a plus
