RPG Programmer in Boston, MA

The Global Equity Trading Technology team develops and supports custom applications used by the Equity Trading desks in Boston, London, Tokyo and Hong Kong. The GETT team is looking for a programmer/analyst to design and develop custom trading applications, as well as to implement and maintain those applications. The role requires solid AS/400 programming experience, and knowledge of Java and Unix would be beneficial.



The qualified candidate must be able to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment where the ability to perform diverse tasks is essential to job success. This individual must be adaptable and will be required to make strong contributions both independently and as a team member. Strong organizational skills coupled with effective written and verbal communication skills are important qualities. The candidate should have full development life cycle experience from requirements definition through architecture, coding, and release. The individual should have proven experience developing and releasing software in a team-based environment.




Experience: Responsibilities

. Design, develop, and test application code for large trading system application

. Troubleshoot and resolve application production problems

. Provide on call support for the AS/400 trading application



Qualifications



4 years or more AS/400 experience with exposure in the following areas:

. ILE RPG and CLP programming with a grasp of functions, modules and service programs

. Embedded SQL ILE RPG programming

. Fundamentals of data journals, data queues and application program interfaces (API)

. DB/2 SQL fundamentals with a focus on stored procedures and user-defined functions

. Familiar with Aldon change management system

. Familiar with IBM debug functionality or Xtermin8 debug functionality
