VP Development (HR system) in Boston, MA

Our client is seeking a V.P Development (HR systems) for their Boston location.

The V.P. will manage a development organization of 200 people - 100 domestic and 100 internationally and will have accountability for a large number of integrated projects and programs. He/she must have a background in HRO since his/her organization will support two primary business functions:

A set of applications that provide human resource transactional capabilities to the company's clients;
These include view and update of employee/employer HR and payroll data, timekeeping, and reporting
The second set of applications allows the company's clients to manage their workforce.
These include compensation planning, performance,management, staffing, talent and succession planning, learning and competency development


On a broad basis, the responsibilities will include:


Manage the full life cycle of product development and program management, including scoping and estimating efforts, resource planning, project planning, communications and delivery
Work with business partners to define requirements for the Workforce suite of applications
Provide strategic input into the long term direction and roadmap of the applications
Provide input into department processes and areas for improvement
Responsible for all aspects of project planning - resource planning, technical planning, issue resolution, risk management and cost/benefit analysis
Assess performance of project managers/ and teams' performance; provide developmental opportunities; establish roles and performance goals
Proactively seek opportunities to partner with customers by providing strategic process, service and product visioning

Other Requirements

Strong and effective relationship management skills - ability to gain credibility with senior business leaders
Knowledge of OO methodology or comparable project methodology
Experience working in an eBusiness environment
Bachelor's degree in MIS/Computer Science or related fields
Advanced degree is a plus


Experience: Minimum of 10 years systems experience

Proven experience leading a large (sr level - VP or EVP level) technology group AND managed people who manage technology projects

Experience working/developing human resource administration system and/or workforce management system (MUST HAVE)
