C++ Lead in Boston, MA

Here is the job description for this role. Position is in Boston, MA.



The candidate will lead technical development, coding, documentation and communication about projects and solutions. S/he is required to work within standards, but also be able to create "breakthrough" solutions to new business situations. This senior position on the Quotes and Research team requires knowledge of development processes, procedures and standards. It involves mentoring developers and on-call support rotation for existing applications.



Candidates must have:

· Bachelor or Master of Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent

· Five or more year's development and engineering experience

· Excellent written and verbal problem solving skills

· Web based technologies background




Experience: Candidates must have extensive knowledge of:

· Websphere J2EE, iPlanet, Unix OS, HTTP/S

· C/C++, NSAPI, PERL, Java, JSP, Flash, HTML, Javascript

· Software and queuing theory

· High-throughput software design techniques and strategies

· Multi-processing code design patterns

· Connection management and multi-threading application design

· Systems design for application deployment

· Software version control and build practices using Clearcase and ANT

· Software defect analysis and resolution using dbx, gcore, truss, pfiles, purify, quantify

· Publish / Subscribe metaphor

· Shared memory management and data cache



Ideal candidates would also have experience in:

· Financial services industry

·· Project management and planning

· Market symbology and financial instrument attributes

· Web server configuration and connection models

· Basic systems administration duties

· Network technology including TCP/IP, DNS and traffic load balancing
