Systems Administrator III - Senior UNIX AdministratorJob Description:Sr. UNIX Administrator is responsible for the administration and maintenance of all UNIX platforms1.Responsible for UNIX System Security for production and test environment;2.Responsible for User administration and Root privileges;3.Provide technical assistance to agency users and other agency personnel throughout the Commonwealth on technical, professional and/or administrative matters;4.Provide support for UNIX/Network related problems;5.Identify and successfully troubleshoot problems;6.Isolate/resolve issues regarding configuration and connectivity;7.Perform system audits of UNIX machines;8.Monitor capacity;9.Improve security, performance, backup strategies and administration;10.Identify tasks which require automation and automate them;11.Responsible for midrange software installations/upgrades;Create user and technical documentation including startup and shutdown, backup and recovery and maintenance upgrades;12.Evaluate and/or recommend hardware and software purchases;13.Provide end user training as required;14.Perform related duties as required.15.
