Desktop Support / Jr. Systems Administrator in Boston, MA

One of our International Client's has an immediate need for a Desktop Support / Jr. Systems Administrator in their Boston facility.

In this role you will be working in a small-team environment reporting to the firm’s Global Support Manager, the qualified candidate will be responsible for supporting 30+ users in our Boston office and for covering a shift on the Global Help Desk. This position works closely with all levels of consulting staff members and other IT staff both locally and globally.

The qualified candidate will have the following responsibilities:

•Provide technical support and guidance to users.
•Set up, configure, and support the local area network (LAN) in a Windows based environment.
•Install software and software upgrades.
•Administer user accounts.
•Facilitate network access for traveling users and clients while on-site.
•Provide local data protection including backup monitoring and rotation of back-up tapes.
•Administration of local file and print server.
•Manage and maintain local printers.
•Set up audio visual/computer equipment as needed for internal meetings.
•Maintain inventory control.
•Participate in a Global Help Desk -- about 25 hours a week -- providing technical support on any
number of hardware/software issues for 500 global employees.

Experience: Applicants applying for this position MUST have:

&#149;&#61472;Minimum 1+ years experience troubleshooting IT related problems in a Desktop Support or Help Desk environment and 1+ years of progressive experience performing advanced troubleshooting and independently solving intermediate PC hardware and software problems.

&#149;&#61472;Solid understanding of remote connectivity issues, such as VPN, dial-up, and wireless networking, along with good understanding of Microsoft Terminal Services and Remote Desktop Connection.

&#149;&#61472;Strong knowledge of Windows-based networking environment and Microsoft office applications including Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook, and some experience with Active Directory.

Ability to prioritize tasks, problem solve and respond quickly and accurately to requests, maintain excellent and accurate records, and enjoy a fast paced, challenging and professional work environment.
