May perform one or more of the following:
Act as part of a team maintaining a complex and integrated client/server application environment with Windows and UNIX servers located in multiple locations around the country.
Provide second and third level support for applications on a Microsoft Windows platform, including Cognos, OIT Docfinity, Sybase EA Server, and Tomcat. Support the application lifecycle, from development through production support.
Create/maintain high quality documentation/procedures covering the application infrastructure
Write programs/scripts to automate application log management, configuration file updates, and deployment processes.
Analyze new versions of applications to identify how changes would affect the environment. Plan and execute the implementation of applications upgrades.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Typical Years of Experience: REQUIRED:
(MINIMUM)
Have a minimum of 2 year of relevant experience.
Experience with server support in a Windows environment.
Experience with Internet technologies.
Strong skills with multiple scripting technologies such as batch files, Perl, WSH, or VBScript.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
Be willing to work hours necessary to successfully accomplish assigned tasks.
Have excellent organizational and written communication skills.
Enjoy working in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment and be able to handle stress.
Specific Requirements: PREFERRED:
BS/BA degree, preferably in a technical field.
MCSA/MCSE or other relevant industry certifications.
Experience with UNIX systems
