Senior Java Developer, E-Commerce Downtown Boston!!! in Boston, MA

This senior level Java position is for our Downtown Boston client. The client is in the E-commerce industry and currently looking for a skilled Java developer with 8+ years of programming experience. Prior experience with E-commerce companies developing online transactional applications would be essential. Desired skills are the following:

Bachelor's degree CS/Engineering or related field.
7+ yrs. developing Java (J2SE or J2EE) web applications, including Servlets and JavaServer Pages.

5+ yrs. SQL and PL/SQL (Oracle 8+ preferred).

2+ yrs. UNIX (Solaris) experience with shells and text processing (Perl/shell scripting experience preferred).

Extensive experience with object-oriented design concepts, data modeling, the Model-View-Controller (MVC) paradigm, and code/query optimization and profiling techniques.

In-depth implementation experience with various Java technologies including Struts, Spring, or Tapestry frameworks, JSTL, JSF, JDBC/Hibernate, Tomcat/JBoss, and Ant/CruiseControl.

In-depth knowledge of JDK/JVM internals (e.g. Java garbage collection).

Experience with version control software including CVS, SVN, or Git.
Proven experience as a team leader and self-starter, possessing excellent technical and organizational skills.

Possess the ability to manage time, meet sensitive deadlines, and assume ownership of responsibilities.

The following technical abilities are a MAJOR plus:

Experience with AJAX and Web 2.0 technologies.

Knowledge of Web Services technologies (XML-RPC, SOAP, WSDL, REST).
Proven experiencing designing and implementing robust, secure e-commerce functionality such as shopping carts, session management (login/logout), checkout, payment, etc.
