Cobol Programmer in Boston, MA

If you are an experienced Cobol Developer and are interested in a 3-month contract assignment please review the following position.

Responsibilities:

- Responsible for all stages of development including requirements development, design, coding, testing, documentation, and installation of new and existing applications and products.

- Provide estimates and technical recommendations for Mercator performance enhancements.

- Prepare documentation as needed, including but not limited to Technical Specifications, Status Reports, and Design Documentation.

- Develop System test plans, test data specifications and test scripts and know how to arrange, coordinate and perform testing

- Support User Acceptance Testing and implementation
Qualifications/Requirements:

- Strong technical Mercator skills.

- Knowledge of SWIFT processing is required.

- Ability to work independently.

- Knowledge and experience with MQSeries, PVCS, DB2, CICS, COBOL.

- Ability to read and understand technical documents.

- Knowledge and experienced in methodologies of Project Life Cycle.

- Knowledge and experienced in all phases of research, design, development, and testing.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven analytical ability.
Skill Plus:

- Experience with FTP, JCL and utilities.
